The Community Care Centre (CCC) Project was established in the year 2006. This project embraced people infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. It envisions empowered individuals to live with dignity and with a hope for the future. Through individual transformation and community ownership it aims to care and support people infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. The project provides investigation facilities and treatment in partnership with hospitals. This group of individuals had to face stigma and rejection in their families and community as well. They were treated as untouchables.
After years of planning and dedicated work with the target groups in the community the team members ultimately succeeded in bringing about community transformation in the form of increase in participation in project work by beneficiaries like decision-making, able to think proactively for others concern, feeling of self-worth and hope, reduction in opportunistic infection (OI).
